1. About these terms

These terms apply to tours offered on this website under the name “West Japan Tours” and operated by MARBO LLC (“we”, “us”). By sending a booking request or booking a tour, you agree to these terms.

2. Booking requests and contracts

A booking request is not a booking. After you send a request, we check availability and send you a proposal. Your booking is confirmed only when you accept the proposal and we receive your payment. We will send a written confirmation by email.

3. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in Japanese yen and include consumption tax. Unless stated otherwise, prices are per group. What is and isn’t included is listed on each tour page and in your proposal. Payment is made online by the method described in your proposal.

4. Changes and cancellations

Please see our Cancellation Policy. Because tours are private, the route and order of stops may be adjusted on the day for safety, weather, crowds or your preferences.

5. Your responsibilities

• Arrive at the meeting point on time and follow your guide’s safety instructions.
• Tell us in advance about health conditions, mobility needs and allergies that may affect your tour.
• Respect local rules and manners at temples, shrines, shops and residential areas.
• The legal drinking age in Japan is 20. We will not serve alcohol to anyone under 20.

6. Third-party services

Temples, restaurants, shops, transport and other venues visited during a tour are operated by third parties. Their opening hours, prices and rules may change without notice. We will suggest alternatives where possible.

7. Our liability

We take reasonable care in planning and guiding tours. Our liability is limited to the extent permitted by the laws of Japan, including the Consumer Contract Act. We are not responsible for losses caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, severe weather, strikes, epidemics or government action. We recommend that you take out travel insurance.

8. Photos

Your guide may take photos of you during the tour and share them with you. We will only use photos in which you appear for our website or social media with your permission.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Kobe District Court as the court of first instance.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown on this page when you confirm your booking applies to your booking.
